My sweetie loves to cook. I feel so thankful and blessed! White beans, roasted carrots + brussel sprouts + cauliflower, with feta cheese and a mild vinaigrette made with vinegar from our kombucha...shallots, and fresh mint, dill, and parsley, Maldon salt, and a middle eastern spice combination called za’atar. Truly gourmet!

I want to share one of the silver linings of a difficult situation. My partner’s stepmom transcended this earth the other day. But today I met an aunt and uncle from Haiti who I might never have known otherwise. I’m thankful!

Nate’s family in Haiti is quite interesting. His grandmother was a very powerful businesswoman, and was both childhood/lifelong friends with the past dictator, and also hid people from the dictator at risk of her and her fam’s execution (they never found out, thankfully). Nowadays Haiti has democracy, and one of her cousin’s spouses was the last president of Haiti before the current one, and they expect him to be president again because the people really love him. (They can be president for two terms, but not consecutively.) Plus I love hanging with his Haitian fam bc of how lots of cultures outside of the US do family. Much more village/communal, much less nuclear family.

"Something sacred is coming this way.
That is how my ancestors would have said it. In the midst of all this turmoil and confusion, when we cannot clearly see the path before us, when we feel trapped in a situation we cannot control, then I believe the wise elders of my holy heritage would climb to the high place of the heart, draw the circle of reason and faith around them, and stand to sing their prayers into the open sky of the history to come.
They would not shrink into a corner afraid, but rise up to catch the first light of what was coming into being all around them.
We are living in a time of emergence.
We are the witnesses to a great renewal.
The world is full of the fear of birth and change, but that transformation will one day be our blessing.
Do not be afraid, but be believing.
Come to the place where the ancestors are already standing.
Come and see.
Something sacred is coming this way."

Blessings upon this country! Prayers for the healing of the USA. Great spirit, please watch over us during this time of this adolescent phase of our country...and during 2020. May Love guide us. May ALL people be treated with respect and kindness and be able to thrive. Thank you, Love. Blessed be!

I ran across this picture from 2004. At my 10-yr high school reunion. My best friends from high school, we were all cheerleaders together. Of course I always was and still am the weird one. And they love me for it! Look at my short hair.

I love how Daniel calls our feed the ‘soul feed’ instead of the newsfeed. I think he said it jokingly at first, but I love it! I propose we adopt that term for it. Whaday’all think?

Hung out in this spring-fed pool while one of our Philly Ecstatic Dance DJs played. So lovely!

Ran across a pic of a painting a past love, and still friend, created for me back in 2000.

@Omra I am so glad to see you on here! I have had this sticker of yours for quite a while, and it finally felt just right to put it on my new computer.

These Chinese lady ornaments came in a bundle of free stuff someone was giving me, and I was laying them out to look at them, and thought how cool it looks to have your mermaid surrounded by the Chinese ladies.

Great to “see” you! 😘

This beautiful person. As the lead in the Black Panther movie he was a source of inspiration for Black Americans, and for all of us. No one knew he was battling cancer during that time, or while he was visiting these children during their difficult time. He just transitioned, At the age of 43. I am so touched by his spirit, his care, and what he gave the world.
